The NorthEast Wisconsin DX Association (NEWDXA) was established in December 1993 by twenty-one amateurs from the region who shared an interest in DX'ing and Contesting. Those individuals came together because of this interest and the additional interests in communicating with others, maintaining high operating and technical standards, and their passion for DX'ing.
The association continues to grow, as membership is now over one hundred. Membership includes participants from Wisconsin, other states, and other countries. Membership is open to all licensed amateurs who have a serious interest in DX'ing. It is assumed that if the prospective member is interested in DX then he/she is, or will be, working toward the ARRL DXCC Honor Roll. NEWDXA is recognized by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) as a viable DX association.
